CRS (Community Radio Station) Management

Community Radio means radio broadcasting with the objective of serving the cause of the community in the service area by involving members of the community in the broadcast of their programs. Private FM & CRS both operate on Frequency Modulation (FM). FM Radio is allowed for commercial use for which actual license fee is charged whereas in CRS there is no license fee. An organization applying for a CRS should be from a non-profit organization or a community-based organization. The cost of setting up a basic CR station could be anywhere between INR15-30 L (excluding the cost of land and building) depending upon the equipment.
